BSA Counseling
Peter Bourland M.A., L.P.C.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1998. I offer counseling for individual adults (over the age of 18) dealing with anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, grief and loss, religious trauma, parenting and personal growth.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to meet the needs of the client. I seek to create a warm and non-judgmental relationship, meeting the client where they are and working together toward the changes they seek in their life.
I tend to prefer an existential, psychodynamic approach to counseling. This means that I believe much of the problems we run into have to do with patterns and dynamics set in motion through relationships and experiences early in life which need to be examined and understood in order to make the real, lasting changes we desire in adult life.
I see all my clients via telehealth.
Therapy is fundamentally a relationship. The genuineness and authenticity of the relationship is the central vehicle for change (both from the client to therapist and from the therapist to client) so it is important when you choose a therapist that the therapist be someone you feel you can really trust and be open with. As you consider which therapist to work with it is important that you take the time to find the right person. Because of this, I encourage you to meet with me for a free 30 minute consult in order to get a good sense of who I am before committing to the therapy process.
My fee for therapy is $150/session. A session typically lasts 50-60 minutes.
I accept Aetna, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Priority Health insurances. Please check with your insurance company regarding your mental health coverage. Policies vary from person to person. You will most likely be responsible for paying the full price of therapy until your annual deductible is met, and then after that, there is usually a copay that will be due at the time of service.
You may self-pay if you do not have insurance coverage using cash, check, credit card, Venmo or PayPal
